I've spent more than ten years building software and leading the engineering teams behind it, much of it in enterprise environments where things have to work at scale and keep working.
BCK Systems is where I build for smaller teams. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. There's no handoff between a sales team, a strategy team and a delivery team, and nothing gets lost in translation.
I also build and run my own products: Ringdown, Marivant and OnPlane. Shipping and supporting real software keeps the advice honest. If I recommend something, it's because I've built it and lived with it.
These days most of my code is written by AI agents that I direct, review and test. It makes one senior engineer remarkably fast, and it's the same practical approach I bring to client work: AI where it pays for itself, and nowhere else.
